Welcome, and thank you for being here. Whether you already know us or you’re just discovering our story, we’re glad you stopped by. This campaign isn’t just about politics — it’s about people, community, and creating a space where everyone feels respected, heard, and valued.

This site represents Lloyd Dunn — your candidate for State Representative — and his husband, Joe. Together, we believe leadership starts with honesty, kindness, and showing up for your neighbors.

Meet Lloyd

Lloyd is a born-and-raised Tennessean. He was born January 27, 1981, in Nashville at the old Nashville General Hospital and grew up in Sumner County in the Millersville–White House area. Tennessee isn’t just where Lloyd lives — it’s who he is.

From a young age, Lloyd learned the value of hard work and community. One of his favorite memories is running a small veggie stand as a kid. Almost every week, a neighbor would stop by to buy tomatoes and produce. That neighbor happened to be the late Jim Varney — better known as Ernest P. Worrell. Lloyd remembers him as kind, funny, and always supportive of local kids trying to make something of themselves. It’s a reminder that strong communities are built from simple, everyday connections.

Lloyd carries those lessons with him today: treat people with respect, work for what you believe in, and never forget where you came from.

Meet Joe

Joe was born July 3, 1980, in upstate New York in the village of Gouverneur, located in St. Lawrence County near Fort Drum. Gouverneur is a small town with a big heart — and a fun piece of history. It’s the birthplace of the original Life Savers candy, and visitors are still greeted by a giant blue Life Saver when entering the village.

Joe brings that same small-town spirit with him to Tennessee: caring for neighbors, supporting family, and believing everyone deserves a place where they belong.

Our Life in District 44

Today, Lloyd and Joe live in the Portland (Scattersville) area with their four beloved fur kids. Our home is built on love, responsibility, laughter, and staying connected to the community around us.

Faith is important to us, religious and raised in the church... but as time does pass and guys grow, so does faith.

A Safe Space for Everyone

This campaign is a safe space — for young people, families, LGBTQ+ neighbors, working folks, seniors, and anyone who wants a better future for District 44. You don’t have to look the same, love the same, or live the same life to belong here. What matters is respect, opportunity, and caring about our shared home.

Lloyd is running because leadership should feel human. It should listen, protect, and lift people up — not divide them.
