Stance of issues:
What, Why and How.
Welcome
District 44 is home to working families, students, renters, small businesses, and people who care about staying rooted in Tennessee. State government shapes our schools, roads, rent, healthcare access, and job opportunities right here at home.
I’m running for State Representative because too many people in District 44 feel priced out, ignored, or stuck. My priorities focus on affordability, opportunity, freedom, and local growth — with real plans that deliver results for the next generation.
Affordable Living in District 44
Why it matters:
Rent, home prices, groceries, and utilities keep rising faster than paychecks. Young people in District 44 shouldn’t have to leave their hometown just to survive.
What I’ll do:
Support affordable housing, protect renters, and help first-time buyers compete with out‑of‑state investors. Encourage smart growth that keeps our communities livable.
How we get it done:
Work with city councils, county leaders, and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency to unlock funding, modernize zoning, and prioritize local families over corporate speculators.
Education & Career Pathways
Why it matters:
College, trades, and training should lead to real careers — not lifelong debt.
What I’ll do:
Expand technical schools, apprenticeships, and career programs tied to healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and technology.
How we get it done:
Partner with local schools, community colleges, and employers so state dollars connect directly to job placement in District 44.
Jobs, Wages & Small Business
Why it matters:
A full‑time job should mean you can afford to live where you work.
What I’ll do:
Support small businesses, fair wages, entrepreneurship, and local hiring so people can build careers without leaving District 44.
How we get it done:
Use state incentives to reward businesses that hire locally, train workers, and reinvest in our communities.
Healthcare Access Close to Home
Why it matters:
Young adults and families in District 44 often skip care because it’s expensive, far away, confusing, or controlled by politics instead of patients. Healthcare should be about freedom, dignity, and access — not barriers.
What I’ll do:
Protect your freedom to choose your own healthcare, expand access to clinics, mental health services, addiction recovery, and telehealth, and defend a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body with her doctor — NOT politicians. Healthcare in Tennessee should respect personal liberty while keeping care affordable and local.
How we get it done:
Secure state funding for community health centers, modernize healthcare delivery across District 44, protect patient privacy, and support laws that keep medical decisions between individuals and their healthcare providers.
Infrastructure & Connectivity
Why it matters:
Roads, broadband, and utilities shape daily life — from commuting to running a business online.
What I’ll do:
Invest in road improvements, broadband expansion, and infrastructure that supports growth without raising costs.
How we get it done:
Direct state infrastructure funding toward District 44 projects and coordinate with local governments.
Protecting Our Communities, Land & Water
Why it matters:
District 44’s identity is built on its land — our woodlands, rivers, creeks, farms, and open spaces. Young people want clean water, healthy soil, and growth that doesn’t erase what makes our community home. Protecting the environment isn’t political — it’s practical. It protects our health, property values, food supply, and way of life.
What I’ll do:
Protect local farms, preserve woodlands, and defend our rivers and creeks from pollution and reckless development. I’ll support conservation programs, responsible land use, and smart growth that balances progress with protection. I’ll work to keep corporate interests from damaging our natural resources while supporting farmers and landowners who care for the land.
How we get it done:
Strengthen state conservation funding, partner with local landowners and farmers, improve water-quality protections, and ensure development follows environmental standards that protect District 44’s soil, forests, and waterways for the next generation.
LGBTQ+ Equality, Safety & Freedom
Why it matters:
District 44 is home to LGBTQ+ students, workers, families, and small business owners who deserve to live openly and safely in their own community. Young people want a Tennessee where no one is pushed out, silenced, or targeted for being who they are.
What I’ll do:
Protect LGBTQ+ Tennesseans from discrimination in housing, employment, education, and healthcare. I’ll support safe schools, defend personal freedom, and stand against laws that single people out based on identity or who they love. Everyone in District 44 deserves equal protection and respect under the law.
How we get it done:
Work at the state level to modernize civil rights protections, partner with local schools and community organizations, and ensure state policy promotes safety, fairness, and opportunity for LGBTQ+ residents in District 44.
